No invented precision
Depreciation, repairs, resale value, and investment returns are estimates. The site explains uncertainty and avoids presenting a broad average as a quote for a specific vehicle.
Visible updates
Guides show publication and review dates. Material changes to data, formulas, or interpretation require a substantive update—not merely a fresh date.
Corrections
Factual and calculation errors should be corrected promptly and the affected methodology or article updated. A public contact channel will be added with the production domain.

A citation does not make CarCost the original authority behind a fact. It lets readers inspect the authority, evidence, publication date, and limitations behind the explanation.

- Review before redating.Links, material factual claims, and calculation logic are reviewed against the named sources. Dates change only when the content changes substantively.
